AI Disclosure

The Commonstead uses artificial intelligence — including "Tom," our AI assistant built on the TalkToTom platform — throughout our sales and service experience. We believe you deserve to know when you're talking to an AI. This page explains exactly how we use it.

Where you may encounter AI

Voice conversations. The "Talk to Tom" feature on this website connects you to an AI voice assistant. Tom will identify himself as an AI. Calls may be made or received by AI on our behalf.
Text messages and email. Follow-up messages from The Commonstead may be drafted or sent by AI under the supervision of our consultants.
Analysis. Utility-bill reviews, savings estimates, and property research may be performed in whole or in part by AI systems, then reviewed by a human consultant before any proposal is final.

Your consent and your choices

By submitting your phone number or email through this website, you consent to be contacted by The Commonstead — including by AI-assisted calls, texts, and emails — about the products and services you inquired about. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
You may opt out at any time: reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or tell Tom (or any consultant) to stop contacting you. Opt-outs are honored across all channels.
You can always ask to speak with a human. Every AI conversation can be escalated to a real consultant.

Call recording & transcription

Voice conversations with Tom may be recorded and transcribed for quality, training, and accuracy of your proposal. Where state law requires all-party consent, you will be notified at the start of the conversation and may decline.

Honest numbers policy

AI helps us move fast; it does not decide what we promise you. Savings estimates are ranges based on your actual utility bill, and every final proposal is reviewed by a human consultant. If a product doesn't pencil for your home or business, we'll tell you — that policy applies to our AI too.
